Nursing Informatics Specialist and Trainner
Lake Health District is looking for an attention to detail Nursing Informatics Specialist and Trainer to join our team!
A Full-time, Day shift, set schedule, and benefited position after a 500 worked hour introductory period is met.
Position Summary: Under the direction of the IS Department Director, assists with input, programming and training for Electronic Medical Record/Hospital Information System with the goal of maximizing system capability and efficiency. The Nursing Informatics is the specialty that integrates nursing science, computer science, and information science to manage and communicate data, information, and knowledge into nursing / clinical practice. Facilitates the integration of data, information, and knowledge to support patients, nurses, and other providers in their decision making in all roles and settings. Develops and provides staff and physicians EMR/HIS education programs (s). Works closely with clinical staff and physicians to solve immediate and long term problems and enhance system and staff functions.
Education: Bachelors in IT or medical related field preferred.
Experience: Two or more years as a Systems Analyst or or Informatics Specialists or related IT field, with working knowledge of medical terminology and hospital processes. Related medical industry experience required.
Job Knowledge: Must have good understanding of use and implementation of EMR/HER application systems and workflows within a hospital system. Knowledge of computer systems principles, methods, and system life cycle principles is required.
Skills: Must have excellent computer skills and considered "Tech Savvy". Well organized and possessing strong communication (verbal, written) and listening skills. Able to educate staff and physicians on the use and capabilities of the system Able to plan, prioritize, and adapt within a multi-tasking environment. Able to function as a positive team member with other Lake Health District staff and physicians. Able to manage conflict in a positive and productive manner.
