Triathlon can be completed as a 2 or 3 person relay or as an individual. The duathlon can be completed as a 2 person relay or as an individual.
When: Sunday, August 12, 2018: 0800
Where: Lakeview Community Pool Park
Distances: 500m swim, 20k bike, 5k run,
Swimming in new Regulation size pool and bike/run entirely on pavement.
Kids Race:Kids Event will start after all adult runners finish (We guestimate around 11 am)

Anyone under the age of 18 can compete in the adult race with a parent/guardian signature.

About This Event:

The It's About How You Live Triathlon is an event sponsored by Lakeview Home Health and Hospice. Our goal is to raise awareness about the Hospice program in Lakeview and the services we provide to the community.


Lakeview Community Swimming Pool and Park. Located just east of downtown Lakeview.
Important Note: No dogs are allowed in Lakeview Community Swimming Pool Park.

Race fee includes commemorative T-shirt, awards and prizes, & finish line food.

Additional Information:

All bikers must wear a helmet-NO helmet no time!

All bikers and runners must obey all traffic laws-including stopping at all stop signs and yielding to traffic.

Confirmation cards will be mailed. Participant confirmations will also be posted on the website for all mail-in and online entries. Those registering after 8/1 will not receive a confirmation card in the mail and are to refer to the on-line confirmation list "It's About How You Live "

Packet Pickup Information:

Pre-Race Day Packet Pickup: Friday, August 11th from 4-6pm at the park.

Race Day Packet Pickup:

7am-8:30 at the park.

Race Times:

Pre-Race Day Packet Pickup: 7-8:30am
Triathlon Begins: 9am
Kids ¼ Mile Obstacle Race: 11:30am
Awards: 12:00pm


Swim: 10 laps in the Town of Lakeview Swimming Pool: Water temperature is in the 70's. Swimming aides (such as kick boards) are allowed.
Bike: Out and back from the swimming pool. This section is open to traffic, but lightly traveled. All bikers must wear a helmet and obey all traffic laws, including stopping at all stop signs and yielding to traffic.
Run: From the swimming pool this will be a course on the pavement throughout town. This course is open to traffic and there will be two busy intersection crossings (runners must obey pedestrian laws and yield to traffic), the course is on roads lightly traveled.

Will be presented to the top three men, top three women, and top 3 relay teams in each event. All kids who participate in kids race will receive an award.

Lost and Found:

Any equipment that is unmarked will be returned to the lost and found officials for participants to claim. Please come to the event with all personal belongings marked with your name and/or race number.


Volunteers, including spouses and other family members of participants, or athletes that are unable to participate are welcome and encouraged to help with the race. Medical Information:

A triathlon pushes the physical limits of human endurance. Be aware of several conditions:
Temperature problems with hyper/hypothermia
Muscle and Skeletal injuries
Please be aware of your body during training. Know how much water your body needs, too much or too little can both be damaging. Make us aware of special medical conditions.
